Parliamo di una notizia che la maggior parte degli amanti dei gatti tender\u00e0 a non accettare molto volentieri. Negli ultimi giorni \u00e8 stata annunciata una nuova scoperta sul comportamento dei felini, secondo cui coccole e carezze stressano i gatti<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Che i felini di casa siano animali piuttosto schivi ed indipendenti era gi\u00e0 noto a tutti, sebbene moltissimi proprietari siano pronti a giurare che Fuffi si dimostri un gran coccolone ad ogni ora del giorno e della notte. In realt\u00e0 anche questo \u00e8 vero, perch\u00e9 numerosi studi sono riusciti a dimostrare che i gatti apprezzano la convivenza<\/strong> con l\u2019uomo e gli altri animali, pur rimanendo creature piuttosto solitarie.<\/p>\n

Questo aspetto \u00e8 stato ampliato notevolmente negli ultimi giorni da uno studio<\/strong> condotto dalla University of Lincoln britannica, la University of Sao Paulo in Brasile e la University of Veterinary Medicine in Austria, sponsorizzato da Ceva Animal Health. Lo studio in questione \u00e8 riuscito a dimostrare che le coccole possono stressare il gatto. \"gatto<\/p>\n

Gli animali sono stati esaminati nell\u2019ambiente domestico da soli, in coppie e in gruppi di tre o quattro, valutando precisamente i livelli dell\u2019ormone dello stress<\/strong> in quattro momenti diversi.<\/p>\n

Al termine dello studio hanno notato che i gatti pi\u00f9 giovani che vivevano da soli erano pi\u00f9 stressati<\/strong> rispetto a quelli inseriti in gruppi pi\u00f9 numerosi.<\/p>\n

La ragione potrebbe essere legata \u2013 come suggerisce il professor Daniel Mills della University of Lincoln \u2013 al fatto che \u201cnonostante di solito vivano da soli in natura, molti gatti si riuniscono quando le risorse come il cibo sono concentrate in una singola area, per esempio quando le persone nutrono le colonie randagie. Tuttavia, il fatto di riunirsi per necessit\u00e0 \u00e8 stressante per loro, perch\u00e9 non sono naturalmente animali socievoli\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In ogni caso, questo aspetto potrebbe non essere poi cos\u00ec negativo. Secondo il prof. Mills, infatti, \u201csembra che, anche se non sono migliori amici, i gatti potrebbero essere in grado di organizzarsi in modo da evitarsi a vicenda senza stressarsi\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Il punto chiave della ricerca, tuttavia, \u00e8 sicuramente legato alle coccole da parte del proprietario<\/strong>. Secondo quanto \u00e8 emerso dallo studio, \u201ci gatti che tollerano, piuttosto che apprezzare o disprezzare le coccole, sono i pi\u00f9 stressati\u201d<\/em>. Chiaramente un gatto che trova piacevoli le coccole, non risentir\u00e0 negativamente delle attenzioni da parte del proprietario. Al contrario, un gatto a cui abbracci e carezze proprio non piacciono, potr\u00e0 rispondere sottraendosi e allontanando il proprietario, oppure sopportando stoicamente. E sono proprio questi ultimi i gatti pi\u00f9 stressati, probabilmente perch\u00e9 si sentono privati del loro spazio personale<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Il concetto di base quindi rimane sempre lo stesso: i gatti non amano le attenzioni eccessive da parte dell\u2019uomo o degli altri animali, ma possono comunque gradirle quando sono loro stessi a richiederle. La conferma a questa affermazione arriva sicuramente dal fatto che spesso Fuffi, quando decide che la sessione di coccole pu\u00f2 bastare, ci allontana con le buone o con le cattive.<\/p>\n
